Kristen Rooney- Lives in the Stockade with her husband and 2 cats. She came to the practice of yoga as a way to manage stress and address feeling better physically as her body began to change in her 40’s. Seven years ago she decided to begin yoga teacher training as a way to deepen her knowledge and appreciation of her own practice and share her knowledge with others.Kristen's training includes 200 hour teacher training (2019-2020), 300 hour yoga teacher training (2021-2022), level 2 reiki, Yoga for Menopause (2025). She has been teaching yoga at the Schenectady YMCA since 2022.
Kristen works full time as a special education teacher with Capital Region BOCES and teach yoga evenings and weekends. She enjoys traveling and knitting.
As a yoga teacher, she strives to create a safe, welcoming environment. She offers clear alignment cues and incorporates the use of props so students can move safely and intentionally through their practice. Kristen focuses on coordinating breath and movement to give her students the best possible yoga experience.
