Adaptive- This class is designed for students with a variety of needs who are looking for a safe place to experience the multiple benefits of yoga. These benefits would include increased flexibility, greater sense of balance, moderate strengthening, and the ability to be present in themselves in the breath to achieve the optimum degree of healing in each experience whether in a yoga class or in the world.
Kripalu- Kripalu Yoga is a soothing yet dynamic practice - spontaneous, flowing, and meditation-orientated. The Sanskrit word Kripalu means compassion. Poses might be held for a longer period, relative to some other styles, so one can explore both the physical and emotional sensations of the posture. By focusing inward each student is encouraged to find his or her own path and level of challenge.
Joyful Hatha- Take a pause from your day to soak up a little sweetness in this relaxing and rejuvenating yoga class. As we slow the flow down, you can foster a strong and safe yoga practice, with an emphasis on fundamentals and proper alignment. You will engage your mind, body and spirit through breath work, movement and guided meditation. This class will focus on building strength and flexibility, improving balance and range of motion, dissolving tension, and creating a deep sense of well-being that will stay with you long after you leave the mat. This is a mixed-levels class and beginners are welcome.
Chair Yoga- Chair Yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available. Students perform postures and breathing exercises with the aid of a chair. Students can experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction.
Yin Yoga- In yin yoga we target the connective tissues, such as ligaments and fascia, along with the energetic systems of the body, bringing the body into balance and increasing it’s natural range of motion. Most poses are done while seated or lying down and are held in stillness for 3-5 minutes. This practice will leave you feeling refreshed, renewed and restored.
Rest & Restore- For this online class you will be guided through Restorative Yoga and a Yoga Nidra meditation to rest your mind and restore your well-being. Practicing Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra is helpful for reducing stress, anxiety, encouraging better sleep and supporting overall wellness. This class is also beneficial in complementing more active styles of yoga and for those who seek to complement their active yoga practice by supporting rest in the body. This class is appropriate for beginners to advanced yoga students.
Yin & Restorative- Rest, restore and recharge as you engage in the complementary practices of Yin and restorative yoga. This all-levels class will start with a restorative posture as we come to a meditative state and reconnect to our breath. After a brief warmup, we will move into a Yin sequence, ending with a restorative savasana. Yin yoga is primarily a passive practice that targets the body’s connective tissues, while avoiding muscle engagement. Greater flexibility, increased range of motion and improved energy flow are achieved by holding seated or reclined poses for an extended period of time (3-5 minutes). Props may be used to help access Yin postures if desired. Restorative yoga is a practice of stillness and ease that helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, turning off the body’s fight-or-flight response. This is achieved by fully supporting the body with props in simple, long-held postures (10-15 minutes).
