Book with Rosa
I am teaching myself how to love better one day at a time...reading, writing, meditating, praying, saying affirmations, doing yoga, therapy, practicing positive self talk, doing things for myself, making new friends, believing in myself, exploring the world, taking missed steps along the way, practicing being gentle and coming more and more into full awareness. I don’t have any answers. I’m not perfect. I am still growing everyday. But, I know that I am a love child. I know that I was put here on this earth to remind people how to love, especially myself. I surely know that “I come as one but, I stand as ten thousand.” I know that I come from generations of traumatized women and yet in my healing, I heal the trauma of my line. I also know that my personal journey and the journey of others are interconnected. If all I can do is feel good in my body, I think I will have achieved what I was meant to in this life!
Services Offered
Doula Sessions- A doula is trained to help and educate the new or experienced mom and provide resources to cope, manage, and transition with these new changes. Every time a baby is born, a new mother is re-born. A doula is also able to help mom after birth, as moms experience their new life and their new addition to their family. There are so many adjustments for moms to make after the baby is here, the doula can help to put in place supports to make sure that mom has continuous care for the best possible outcome. A doula is not a midwife and cannot provide clinical support, we do not take the place of an OBGYN or midwife, we are a part of this team and likely spend more time with the mother than other professionals on the birth team. Doulas can be used for home births, hospital births and birth center births.
  • Pregnancy – A doula can help educate moms on the changes mom and baby are going through in pregnancy. These include but are not limited to: the babies growth, physical changes with mom, hormonal and emotional changes. Additionally doulas can support with physical exercise, movement, meditation, nutritional education, and troubleshooting physical, emotional, spiritual discomfort and challenges with pregnancy. The doula can also provide advocacy for moms if needed to make sure all birth preferences and the birth experience is what the mom envisions.
  • Birth – During birth, a doula plays the role of the birth coach. We are a part of the larger birth team and provide a critical role as we likely spend the most time with mom outside of the immediate family present. We are there to provide comfort, encouragement, and support for the mom in labor. We are there to affirm the birthing mother and provide insight, perspective, and a good ear for listening.
  • Postpartum – A doula can spend just as much time and energy with mom after birth than we can before and during birth. Postpartum is one of the biggest changes in a woman’s life. It is an abundant time filled with joy and blessings. It is also a very delicate time for moms and families. There is healing happening, new routines being forged, and so much learning taking place. In the midst of it all, life still keeps going. Doulas are here to help moms postpartum  feel held and connected during this time. Doulas can also help with breastfeeding, finding a lactation consultant, attending doctors visits, limited house chores and connecting mom with larger supports.
Yoga- Individualized yoga sessions can support specific goals of clients and/or target focus areas for strengthening and opening in the body. I love a challenge and enjoy working with folks who have “problem areas” and pain in the body because that is what brought me to yoga first and foremost. Together we learn and experience how yoga can support the healing of the body.

Prenatal Yoga and Mom/Baby Yoga- Individualized prenatal yoga and/or mom and baby yoga sessions make my heart very happy! As a doula, yoga is typically incorporated in my client’s preparations for birth and a nice way to receive some specialized attention. Mom and baby yoga is a fun way to connect with baby and also engage in movement and healing for the postpartum body.

Breath Work Meditation- Breath work and meditation are one of the most powerful healing tools to bring your body into union with your spirit and offer coherence to your being. It is an instrumental compliment to your existing yoga practice if you have one and also can be a doorway to movement and feeling more alive in your body. In these session we’ll work with different breath techniques and focus our meditation on client specified themes.

Energy Healing- Energy Healing can encompass movement, meditation, breath work, writing, singing, dancing, or play. These sessions are kind of a catchall to experiment with different healing practices to support a specific direction of growth, healing, or process that the client identifies. These sessions are great for those open to receiving, willing to be expressive, and receptive to trying new activities.
